You can call or text 988 anytime you’re in crisis. There is also a live chat feature on the 988 Colorado website. You’ll be connected with a human who will ask a few questions about you during the call and listen to you. If you’d like to speak to someone in-person, you can request that during the call. In Gunnison & Hinsdale counties, in-person crisis response is via GVH Mobile Crisis team, who will come to your location to support you and assess what you need, whether it be resources, therapy, or inpatient placement. This team strives to help people remain in our community whenever possible – this means avoiding unnecessary inpatient placement and/or trips to the Emergency Department. You must meet criteria to be placed inpatient involuntarily. Of course, you can choose to seek inpatient placement voluntarily if you so wish.

You can always call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department (ED) in any crisis. The ED in Gunnison is at 700 N. Taylor Street.

Nearest 24/7 walk-in crisis centers include:

Solvista RAC in Salida

AXIS Montrose Regional Crisis Center
